The James Street Preachers

Listen before you go

The James Street Preachers deliver raw, street-born blues inspired by legends like Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon and Howlin' Wolf. Echoing the spirit of Chicago’s Maxwell Street, their sound is gritty, authentic and deeply rooted in tradition. Jamie Kasdaglis and Matt Lye spent over 15 years learning under renowned bluesman Wylie Reed, performing in his backing band and carrying forward his legacy. From busking on James Street to building a loyal Gold Coast following, the duo now bring an electrifying, no-frills blues experience dedicated to keeping the genre’s true spirit alive at Blues on Broadbeach.
